Surfside Beach Turkey Trot
Coming to Myrtle Beach during Thanksgiving is a great time of the year to visit the beach. Typically, the weather is still warm and the beaches are less crowded. If you will be staying at our oceanfront Myrtle Beach resort on Thanksgiving Day, spend the morning working up an appetite at The Surfside Beach Turkey Trot.
The 3rd Annual Surfside Beach Turkey Trot will take place on Thanksgiving Day on November 22nd. The annual event features a 10K, 5K and one mile run/walk as well as a Kid’s Tot Trot. The Surfside Beach Turkey Trot is presented by the Maguire Law Firm and will take place at the Surfside Pier in Surfside Beach. All regular races begin at 8:30 a.m. but the Tot Trot starts at 10:15 a.m. Participants will get to enjoy views of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean along the way. The race will start and end at the Surfside Pier. Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Bojangle Biscuits will be available and race participants over 21 will receive two complimentary beers at a local restaurant. All race participants will receive technical t-shirts and benefit from state-of-the-art timing.
The Surfside Turkey Trot is quickly becoming one of the most popular Thanksgiving Day races. Festival Promotions is the organizer of this event and is working on making the Surfside Turkey Trot the premier Turkey Trot in the Southeast. Festival Promotions is the largest event marketing company in Myrtle Beach and organizes events such as the Myrtle Beach Marathon, the Independence Day 8K/5K Run, the Myrtle Beach Beer Fest and Oktoberfest. A contribution from the Surfside Beach Turkey Trot will benefit the Surfside Beach Rotary Club to support their charitable works in the community.
Registration for the Surfside Beach Turkey Trot is currently $30 for the 10K, $28 for the 5K and $17 for the One Mile if you register before October 31st. From November 1st to the 19th, registration for the 10K and 5K will increase $5. Registration during race week is available but t-shirts are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
