Recent Renovation Incorporates Energy-Efficient Fixtures and Products

RECENT SPRINGMAID BEACH RESORT RENOVATION PROJECT INCORPORATES ENERGY-EFFICIENT FIXTURES AND PRODUCTS

July 30, 2012, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Representatives from Springmaid Beach Resort today announced that the resort has completed renovations to feature energy-efficient appliances, lighting fixtures and light bulbs. Throughout the resort’s recent $7 million property-wide renovation, ENERGY STAR products are now featured.

The new ENERGY STAR products that have been installed include kitchen appliances and coolers in the resort’s on-site restaurants, Marlin’s Buffet Restaurant and BARnacle’s Bar & Grill on the Pier, and laundry dryers throughout the resort. New compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs and can lighting have been installed in the majority of the resort’s guest rooms, bathrooms, ceiling lighting, fixtures and lamps to help save energy and money while protecting the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Springmaid Beach Resort also consulted with Santee Cooper on its newly renovated and energy-efficient Live Oaks parking garage, the largest of the renovation projects. The Live Oaks parking structure now features all energy efficient lighting fixtures with CFLs. “We are very proud to showcase our new renovation this summer and in particular, our energy- efficient products,” said Don Singletary, Springmaid Beach Resort’s general manager. “We installed ENERGY STAR appliances and energy-efficient lighting when possible throughout the resort and it’s already making a difference when it comes to operating more efficiently and environmentally responsible.”
