The BIGD Theater in Myrtle Beach has taken the place of the old IMAX theater. The building has been remodeled and new equipment has been installed to bring the BIGD experience. All of the old IMAX equipment has been replaced by a new high definition screen that is about 3 stories tall and 82 feet wide. The screen is supposed to be much like your flat screen TV at home, only much larger. Giant subwoofers and 7.1 speaker array provide unmatched sound quality for your movie going experience. Carmike Theaters also has replaced the old, uncomfortable IMAX seats with new, leather rocking seats.
