Harvest Home Festival Weekend

While staying at Springmaid Beach Resort there are many nearby attractions and events going on in the area.  Myrtle Beach is known for having some of the best events in the area.  No matter what time of the year you are planning your visit there is always something fun and exciting happening.  A great family fun event is Harvest Home Festival Weekend.  The Festival is held on October 13th and October 14th from 9:30a.m to 4:30p.m at Brookgreen Gardens.

Brookgreen Gardens was founded in 1931 by Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington.  It began as a non-profit garden museum where visitors could discover the native flora and fauna within a natural setting.  Today Brookgreen Gardens has become one of the most popular attractions in Myrtle Beach.  It is a National Historic Landmark with a large collection.  When you visit the area you will see sculptures, flora, fauna, and some of the most wonderful art.

Harvest Home Festival Weekend is a time for the entire family to enjoy.  There are many activities and events going on.  There is food, drinks, and entertainment.  A great activity for kids is the sidewalk chalk painting and the music group.  Susana and Timmy Abell will bring a story to life through songs, sidewalk chalk, and puppets.  Later there will be a duo performing traditional and modern bluegrass music.  Throughout the event you will see scarecrow building, pumpkin painting, and hayrides.  Also there will be many crafts and for the kids including pine cone bird feeders, temporary tattoos, a snack tent, and meeting the animals.

This is a great weekend to bring the entire family along.  There is an activity for everyone to participate in, no matter what age.  It is also a time to discover some of the most beautiful flora and fauna and learn more about the history of Brookgreen Gardens.  Speak with an employee at Springmaid Beach Resort to learn more about this wonderful event.
